Big Shot Shotgun Challenge!
My first experience shooting a shotgun turned out to be a really fun time. If you’ve ever golfed, they’ve taken the same concept to clay targets. Move from platform to platform in a 1 mile circle. Here’s a link to the location where the event happened. http://www.mitchellsclaytargetsports.com/
Here’s myself and my first time shooting, along with my crew from KUPL!
A great event to benefit The Boy Scout’s of America. The 8th Annual event raises money to help these kids learn about gun safety and the thrill of hunting and survival. I was a boy scout in my youth and really cherish the moments I spent out in the outdoors, something I do today with my kids.

I had the pleasure of hosting the afternoon show again this past Saturday on KUPL in Portland, OR. We gave away tickets to Sex & The City 2, Great Applebee’s Food & a shot at Carrie Underwood Tickets..this includes Meet & Greet! Awesome radio station to be playing on. I’d hate to leave the station I grew up listening too…but doing this every day is something that my heart yearns for! Gimme some love…call me and let me rock your PPM numbers! If you pay attention to my audio, you will see that I have made connections with my listeners in the short 6 months that I’ve been a semi regular voice on KUPL. I can make this happen in your city too!
Here are a few of my favorite minutes of this show.

A Fun Few Days on The RADIO!
I LOVE walking into the studio with so many things going on. Remote broadcast, contests, fun phones = FUN RADIO!
Here are a few short minutes from my shows over the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday this week. It was really fun incorporating audio from the ACM broadcast into my show. From the one liners ala Reba to LL’s intro for Taylor Swift. I’m ready and available to get back to this full time. If you’re looking for a hard working, team passionate player…call me 360-241-0347!
Joni Mitchell Speaks….About Dylan?
Never hear anything from Joni, except when she’s got new music out or a re-release of an old album…but now this! Joni Mitchell slammed Bob Dylan in a new interview with the L-A Times. Joni states, “Bob is not authentic at all,” adding, “He’s a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception.” Yikes. Still waiting for the retort from Bob, you can read more at LATimes.com….his real name is Robert Zimmerman. I like Bob.
Now even MORE proof that It pays to rock. England’s Sunday Times newspaper recently released their list of the richest millionaires in the music industry, and rockers are all over it. Paul McCartney holds the five spot with a fortune of 731-million dollars. Mick Jagger is at seven with 292 mil and Elton John follows him at eight with 284-million bucks. Sting comes in at nine with 277 mil, followed by Keith Richards, who has 269 million. Others in the top 20 include Ringo Starrat 15, Eric Clapton at 18 and Barry and Robin Gibb at 20. Warner Music Group CEO Edgar Bronfman tops the list with over 2.5-billion dollars. See the whole list at TimesOnline.co.uk.
ZERO AND A HALF MEN! According to Radar Online, if Charlie Sheen does not return to Two and a Half Men next season, the show will be canceled. A source told the sometimes reliable website that without Sheen there is no show. My .2…Writers are now figuring out a way to have Charlie die a slow hopeless alcoholics death…..what a way to end the show.
What will the kids think….now that TRUMP SAYS WOODS DIVORCE IS ON! According to Donald Trump, Tiger Woods and his wife Elin are getting a divorce. Apparently, Trump and the golfer are friends and “The Donald” told USA Today that he thinks Elin just couldn’t stand how many women Woods is rumored to have slept with….why is it ole Red’s place to say anything about what Tiger is doing?
These are a few of the things I would be talking about if I were on your radio station everyday, being live, topical, local, friendly!
2 Days…3 Shows!
On Tuesday my friend and boss left KUPL after a killer 26 years at the station! I aspire to find a radio family in which I get to see my co-workers come in as youngsters, get their chops, get married, have kids and live the dream. Bubba watched that happen with me over the last 18 years since I started working with him. Pulling carts, cds and then putting them away. It amazed me how he could have a conversation with me and then 2 seconds later go on the air and sound perfect with lots of content and fun.
He taught me and now I carry the attitude he has every time he walks into a studio. Give it all you got and have FUN! With his departure from the station it leaves a void on Sunday mornings..Legends & Outlaws..the early days of country music. I was chosen to host the show this past weekend and it was an honor. I came back in the afternoon to host New Country, which is what we play 50 minutes of every hour!
Here is the short audio from the 3 days. Check out the full show minus commercials and songs on the Scopes tab. Hear everybreak…no fudging and holding out breaks I don’t want you to hear….hear it all…and make me your next Morning Drive, Mid-day or Afternoon host..I’ve done them all and can’t wait to hear from you!
